Product Overview

The BSK Zephyr Plus is a high-performance decentralized heat recovery ventilation unit designed to provide continuous fresh air to individual rooms without the need for a traditional centralised ducted ventilation system.

Ideal for residential properties, renovations, apartments and light commercial applications, the Zephyr Plus combines heat recovery, low-energy EC fan operation and intelligent humidity and temperature sensing within a compact through-wall unit.

During operation, stale indoor air is extracted through the unit while the ceramic heat exchanger captures and stores thermal energy from the outgoing air. The airflow then reverses, drawing fresh outdoor air back through the ceramic core where the stored heat is transferred to the incoming air. This alternating process helps maintain a comfortable indoor temperature while reducing the heat losses associated with conventional extract ventilation.

With airflow rates of up to 100 m³/h, thermal efficiency of up to 90%, four fan speed settings and very low power consumption, the Zephyr Plus provides an energy-efficient solution for improving indoor air quality and controlling excess moisture.

How the Zephyr Plus Works

The Zephyr Plus operates using an alternating airflow cycle. During the extract cycle, warm stale air from inside the room passes through the ceramic heat exchanger, transferring heat energy into the ceramic core.

The fan then reverses direction and draws fresh outdoor air through the same heat exchanger. The stored thermal energy is transferred to the incoming fresh air before it enters the room.

This regenerative heat recovery process allows the Zephyr Plus to continuously refresh indoor air while recovering up to 90% of the heat that would otherwise be lost through conventional ventilation.

Ideal For

The BSK Zephyr Plus is particularly suitable for:

  • Individual rooms requiring improved ventilation
  • Homes where installing a full ducted MVHR system is impractical
  • Renovation and retrofit projects
  • Apartments and flats
  • Bedrooms and living areas
  • Home offices
  • Light commercial spaces
  • Areas affected by condensation, excess humidity or poor indoor air quality

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a single room MVHR unit?

A single room MVHR unit is a compact heat recovery ventilation unit designed to ventilate one room or a specific area. It helps extract stale air while bringing in fresh air and recovering heat from the outgoing air.

  • Where can single room MVHR units be used?

Single room MVHR units are often used in retrofit projects, apartments, extensions, bedrooms, living spaces and other areas where targeted ventilation is required.

  • Do single room MVHR units need ductwork?

Most single room MVHR units do not require a full ductwork system. They are usually installed through an external wall, although installation requirements vary by product.
