Installation

1. Connect Ductwork – Use Metal Male Duct Connectors to join the duct lengths securely.
2. Seal the Joints – Apply plastic ducting sealant to the male fitting and push the ducts together. Finish by wrapping aluminum duct sealing tape over the joint for added airtightness.
3. Self-Sealing Fittings – Alternatively, use self-sealing fittings to reduce installation time by up to 70%, and these fittings can be easily dismantled when required.

Insulation

• Cold Areas: If ducting is installed in cold spaces (e.g., lofts), it should be insulated with a 25mm thick layer of thermal insulation (thermal conductivity of 0.04W/(m.k) or lower).
• Non-Loft Installations: Even when ducting is in warmer spaces, the intake and exhaust ducts should be insulated to prevent condensation buildup. This can be achieved by wrapping the ducts with 25mm Rockwool duct wrap with a silver foil face.
• Regulatory Compliance: Bubble wrap-style foil insulation no longer meets building control regulations, so alternative methods should be used.
