Installation
- Apply duct sealant to the male fitting
- Insert the male duct into the female connector
- Apply aluminium duct sealing tape over the joint for airtightness
- Alternatively, use self-sealing fittings to speed up installation by up to 70%
Insulation of Ductwork
- Cold Areas – Ducting located in cold areas (e.g., loft spaces) should be insulated with 25mm thick duct wrap, with a thermal conductivity of 0.04W/(m.k) or less
- Warm Spaces – Insulate intake and exhaust ducts carrying cold air in warm spaces
- Building Control Compliance – Note that bubble wrap is no longer suitable for compliance
