MVHR Vs Air Conditioning
There are many differences between air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems.
- Air conditioning units can cool and heat but only recirculate air
- Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems provide fresh filtered air heated by the extracted air
Air Conditioning System
Air conditioning is great at cooling and heating air but has several issues that everyone should be aware off
Because Air conditioning systems recirculate the air, they have a higher risk of infection spreading faster and easier, this is because Air conditioning can make air contain droplets that might help infectious particles spread
Air conditioning may make a room feel like it is fresher, but it is not actually fresh as it is only recirculating and chilling existing air without filtering or cleaning air.
MVHR Units
MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) systems provide fresh filtered air and recover normally wasted heat but do not normally cool or heat the air
As you are continually replacing the air the air is fresh and will help lower the Co2 levels and improve the air quality
MVHR with Air Conditioning
There is a solution that can do both, The Komfovent RHP Range - Provides a 5 in 1 indoor microclimate ventilation system by providing ventilation, cooling, humidity control, air filtration, and supplementary heating all in one unit without requirement for any extra accessories or additional extras.
This innovative unit range has an integrated heat pump as well as a rotary heat exchanger, meaning this unit has two energy recovery stages.
Other Solutions
Whether you are thinking about installing ventilation at home or in workplaces, we have the solution for you!
We have top range of ventilation units from a large range of worldwide leading manufactures. We choose products and suppliers with the customer always in mind to ensure that we provide the best system possible for all applications.
Our leading brands and products include:
Komfovent
All Komfovent units are highly efficient, high quality and the perfect solution to provide ventilation and are suitable for a large range of applications. We stock the Domekt R Range and the RHP unit range.
Domekt Range - suitable for ventilation in residential applications. One feature that the Domekt units are superior as they have an additional kitchen extract point, allowing you to extract directly from your kitchen with a bypass directly to outside, keeping the extracted air from the air that is being extracted and supplied throughout your home heat recovery system.
RHP Range - Provides a 5 in 1 indoor microclimate ventilation system by providing ventilation, cooling, humidity control, air filtration, and supplementary heating all in one unit with out requirement for any extra accessories or additional extras. This innovative unit range has an integrated heat pump as well as a rotary heat exchanger, meaning this unit has two energy recovery stages. RHP units use only perfectly balanced fans with unique geometry fans ensuring low noise level.
Vent Axia
Vent-Axia is one of the biggest ventilation systems manufactures in the world and is owned by the Volution group of companies. We stock a range of MVHR units from Vent Axia suitable for medium to large homes. We stock units from their sentinel kinetic MVHR range, which are high quality ventilation units providing good heat recovery efficiency. Check out the range.
Quiet-Vent
Here at BPC we are the key suppliers of Quiet-Vent products. The most popular quiet-vent products are the high-quality ducting systems. You can choose between standard and premium ducting kits to make sure that your system suits your budget. Quiet-Vent high quality ducting systems are suitable for use with all other makes and models of heat recovery units. View Quiet-Vent ducting kits.
Quiet-Vent Comfort Cooler
A Quiet-Vent Comfort Cooler cannot be compared to air conditioning since air conditioning recirculates the stale air, whilst the Quiet-Vent Comfort Cooler delivers fresh, filtered, and chilled air from the outside via the home ventilation system.
The Q/V comfort cooler is designed to lower the incoming temperature on warm days to maintain your indoor temperature but if your house is to warm from solar gain or thermal mass we would recommend an a/c system
The Quiet-Vent Comfort Cooler does not require a specialist to install or maintain. Whereas air conditioning systems require both a large internal and external unit with interconnecting pipes, carrying refrigerant that require specialist contractors to install and maintain.
We also have a large range of units and products from more top leading manufacturers:
